If you skip this and just call the first agency that bought your Google search, you'll overpay. Here's the seven-point screen we use ourselves when we have to hire vendors.
If they only show you their own dashboard, they're hiding bad days. Real Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads UI screenshots include date ranges, account names (which can be blurred), and the raw numbers. Most Dubai agencies dodge this. We don't.
Honest agencies suggest retainer is 12-25% of monthly ad spend. If your spend is AED 10K and they want AED 8K/mo retainer, the unit economics rarely work. If your spend is AED 50K and they want AED 3K, they probably can't afford to do the work properly.
"Senior strategist" who joins the sales call but a junior runs the account is the #1 Dubai PPC bait-and-switch. Ask for the LinkedIn of the person who'll be in your Meta Business Manager every day. Insist on it.
Creative drives 70-80% of paid performance in 2026. If your PPC agency outsources video and statics, you're paying margin on margin and the creative team has zero feedback loop. Better: an agency that produces both, with creative iteration on a 7-day cycle.
iOS 14.5+ killed Pixel-only attribution. If they haven't set up Conversions API in the first onboarding week, your campaign data is degrading. Ask: "Will you implement CAPI on day one?"
Monthly is too slow to course-correct a campaign losing money. Real PPC agencies share a Loom or written update every 14 days minimum. Weekly during scale-up. If they're "monthly only," they're not actively managing.
Dubai PPC scams in 2024-25 had agencies running campaigns from their own Business Manager and gating clients out of the data. Your Meta Business Manager and Google Ads account must be owned by your business entity. The agency gets admin access, not ownership.

Different jobs. Google captures people who already know they want your thing. Meta creates the want. Most Dubai brands need both, with Meta heavier for D2C and Google heavier for B2B and high-intent purchases like real estate or professional services.
For a small local business with a tight keyword list, yes, you can self-serve. For e-commerce with catalog ads, conversion tracking, Performance Max, audience segmentation, and Conversions API, the agency margin pays for itself within 60 days. Try it yourself first, see if you hit a wall.
